Every MBBS GP has two common gripes: Patients rushing to specialists and superb specialists for minor ailments like knee pain, ear discharge, low back ache, cold, conjunctivitis, acne, hypertension, diabetes, etc. Patients preferring low-fees doctors of BAMS, BHMS, DHMS, etc but taking allopathic medicines from them. This is not my imagination, but a leading senior MBBS GP in South Mumbai confessed to me that MBBS GPs have lost respect. They no longer are as respected as 20 years ago things used to be.
He also said that "MBBS GPs are zero on knowledge". I don't know what he meant by that statement, since I have never been contemptuous of any MBBS GP just because he is MBBS.
