Introduction As per the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) , the healthcare workers have been prioritized to receive the COVID-19 vaccination during the first phase of the immunization drive. More than 40 lakh healthcare workers have been inoculated with the COVID-19 vaccine so far. This article highlights the importance of COVID-19 vaccination for healthcare workers. Categorization of health care workers for COVID-19 vaccination In the Phase-1 of the vaccination program, healthcare workers were prioritized to receive the vaccine.
