World Diabetes Day was created in 1991 by international Diabetic Federation (IDF) and the World Health Organization in response to growing concerns about the escalating health threat posed by diabetes. With the theme of “Family and Diabetes” for 2018 and 2019, the World Diabetes Day is scheduled to be observed on November 14, 2018 . An official United Nations Day since 2006, World Diabetes Day organizes a worldwide campaign, aiming to reach out to over 1 billion people in more than 160 countries.

The objective of the global campaign is to draw international attention to the paramount issues related to the diabetic world.
