A 25 year old female was presented with the absence of periods for 9 months. Her menarche was at the age of 12.6 and had a regular 28-day cycle until 17 months ago. Then the periods became irregular occurring every 2-3 months and then they stopped completely. The patient also complained of headache for last few months but is not sure if the two problems are related. Patient has a regular sexual partner and uses condom for contraception. Patient has never been a pregnant. Physical exam: BP within normal ranges.
Abdomen is soft and non-tender. Speculum and bimanual tests are unremarkable. FSH 7IU/L, LH 4IU/L, prolactin 1800 mu/L, testosterone 1.7 nmol/L. What is the diagnosis? What tests should be performed next? Should endocrinologist be referred?
