A young boy of 12 yrs came with c/o Fever, body ache, pain in abdomen. o/e temp 103, pulse 108, per abdomen on palpation spleen enlarged upto umbilicus. CBC done Hb 4.6, wbc 18900, plat 1.50 lac, Total billirubin 5.6, direct 1.3, indirect 4.3, SGPT 22, Scikling Positive. Bld grp O positive. In treatment BT was given, antibiotics, IV fluids. On discharge HB 6.8, wbc 10200. G/c stable decrease in wbc after 3 days .
patient discharge d. After 3 days of discharge again came with c/o pain in legs and chest, NSAID were given and pain was gone. HB 6.0 wbc 8900. What are the treatment options, and in how much time spleen will become normal? What are the indication of Splenectomy in sickle cell?
