Respected doctors, A 5 years aged male boy presented with polyurea, polydypsea from two days. His parents brought to hospital. On examination findings were - Child was well oriented, responding to commands, Heart Rate- 124/min, Respiratory rate-35/min, BSL-R-High (Accu-check glucometer),Urinary ketones positive, CVS-s1s2 normal, RS-AEEBS-clear, Mildly dehydrated, All peripheral pulses palpable, Weight-18 kg. Can we manage this patient in a setup without PICU facility?
Facility to monitor blood sugars, Electolytes, Infusion pump available.Patient is from poor family background and not affordable for corporate or multispeciality hospital.Parents gave High Risk consent. If yes what should be ideal steps to follow? Kindly guide.
