A 7-year-old boy with the complaint of constipation in past has presented with the second episode of acute retention of urine. Had frequency and urgency for 10 days before the retention. Admitted and urinary catheter was put, urine routine and microscopy shows no evidence of UTI, started on ceftriaxone, urine output is good. USG shows cystitis.
Now when to remove the catheter? I am afraid if I remove catheter early his urinary tract may be still inflamed and he will again not pass urine. Please suggest your views.
