A multidisciplinary team at a private hospital in Gurugram successfully removed a large abdominal tumor weighing approximately 10 kg from a 39-year-old woman from Jammu & Kashmir. The patient had lived with the progressively enlarging mass for about 15 years, during which it extended from the suprapubic region up to the diaphragm. The tumor caused significant pain, restricted mobility, and severe anemia, with her hemoglobin level dropping to around 4.5 g/dL. She had previously sought multiple consultations and underwent procedures such as uterine artery embolization; however, her symptoms continued to worsen.
When she presented to the gynecologic oncology unit of the private hospital, she required urgent supportive care along with hematology assessment. Her condition was medically optimized over the course of a month before surgery. The tumor measured nearly 40 cm at its widest pointβ¦
