Thirty-four years back, we young students stood bewildered in the Anatomy Department on joining the first professional of our MBBS course. The floor was sparkling like a polished diamond. We were allowed to talk only in whispers in the corridor; cautioned at the entrance by the peon. A strange calmness and serenity prevailed every where. Our first inaugural lecture was to be taken by our Professor of Anatomy Dr. Inder Bir Singh.

At first look, he appeared tiny but as he started the lecture, I call it oration, he seemed to grow taller, his aura pervading and spreading all around. He spoke very softly and so was using a microphone to teach us the basics of the subject. He radiated a strange charm and we sat mesmerized trying to grasp every word of wisdom that he spoke.
