The incidence of bone and joint infections in children is around 2-13 cases per 100,000 population in developed countries and as high as 200 cases per 100,000 population in developing countries. Pediatric bone and joint infections may pose a challenge to diagnosis and, more efficient treatment strategies continue to evolve.
