In a major government hospital in Trivandrum, a journalist was brought to the emergency unconscious following seizures. The lady medical officer on call gave all possible supportive care and medications but the patient could not be saved. Immediately the local politicians took up the matter and on the order of the local MLA the DHS suspended the doctor immediately alleging medical negligence even before an enquiry was initiated! The Press was actually celebrating the event through TV news channels by repeatedly accusing the doctor of causing death of the patient due to medical negligence.
