Case presentation A 70-year-old male, retired building contractor, presented with severe left eye pain, tearing, photophobia and blurry vision, and foreign-body sensation after being kicked in the left eye by his grandson 2 hours ago. He denied any flashing lights, floaters, or mucous discharge from the eye. Past ocular history: Cataract surgery three years ago. Ocular medications: None Past medical history: Treated for hypertension Surgical history: Prior appendectomy Past family ocular history: No history of macular degeneration, glaucoma, or other blinding diseases.
Social history: He denied alcohol, tobacco, or illicit drug use.
