Finally, a miracle may happen in Indian medical education. A. MCI proposes to change the Nomenclature of PG Diploma and introduction of M. Now, as per MCI proposal in: 'MCI Vision 2015' Diploma courses would continue to be for 2 years duration and would be renamed as Master of Medicine (M Med). They may be considered equivalent to existing Diplomas or Masters/M Phil programs in various clinical specialties. They would be: Taken as first level of specialists and Also be able to function as undergraduate teachers at the entry level.
