It is an inflammation of v.appendix normally present in human body. It can be rudimentary or of any length. It is attached to base of cecum where tinea coli merge. It has free mesentery through which appendicular vessels passes . These vessels are at distance from appendicular base very near or merge with wall of appendix near it's tip. It has lot of lymphatic tissue surrounding it. V. Appendix has different locations like pre / post illeal , retro/ subcecal , pelvic etc.
Normall it is present in RIF but it can be seen in LIF . Appendicitis is always a differential diagnosis in acute pain abdomen. It can be broadly divided into two types : 1. Obstructive type : cause can be fecolith worms , bazoaar , gall stones , foreign body , carcinoid , tumors etc. 2.
