In adults, Arterial ischemic stroke (AIS) is considered as a serious health threat and requires immediate treatment. The therapeutic option of thrombolysis is effective within 3-6 hours after first symptoms after prompt diagnosis. The incidence of pediatric AIS ranges from 2-5 per 100000 children/year. The severity of pediatric AIS is like that of adults. Most of the children sustaining AIS ends up with neurological complications.
