In the beginning of my career I worked in a rural health center. Unlike many other Doctors I have stayed in the place of posting along with my wife and infant kid. I tried to do my best. But somethings made me run away from there.The problems can be divided as "Work related" and "Those faced by family," State Govts think about it because of late inspite of good salaries offered by Govt, Doctors are reluctant to go to Rural areas.
I suggest Govt should Allow families of doctors to live in a nearby town and pay HRA. Medical officers should given 15 days off after 15 days stay duties in PHC. ( like ONGC doctors) The medical officers should not be burdened by Medicolegal work (Postmartum and drunken cases etc) Share your suggestions.
