A 36-year-old woman was presented to the ED with severe pain in the right flank. The woman had delivered her full-term infant vaginally four days ago without any complications. The woman has a medical history of a remote deep vein thrombosis of the leg and heterozygosity for the factor V Leiden mutation. Examination Physical examination revealed a tender mass in the right lower quadrant. She was afebrile.
