Our nation suffered a great tragedy yesterday, when we lost our honourable former president Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam. Today, we pay tribute to one of our best scientists and the People’s President.
Dr. Kalam was a career scientist and studied physics and aerospace engineering. He was one of very few scientists sent to National Aeronautics and Space Agency (NASA) in USA for training of ‘sounding rockets’. He was involved in the work at Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) for more than four decades, and was involved in India’s civil space program, rocket launch systems, and military missile development.
