Case presentation A 14-year-old girl presented with excessive daytime sleepiness accompanied by abnormal behavior during sleep. The abnormal sleep behavior was characterized by a struggle in waking up, rolling up of the eyes, limb twitching, and going into a twilight state with an unsteady gait for up to half an hour after waking up.
