There is almost after every alternate day there is a case in local or high or supreme court where the victim asks for termination of pregnancy beyond permissible limit of 20 weeks for termination of pregnancy or abortion. The court takes the decision itself or constituting Medical Board. Therefore, there is a suggestion from the PM's office to Health Ministry to look this law carefully. So the Centre has made changes to the previously proposed amendments to the Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act, 1971.
