Case presentation A 27-year-old woman facing abnormal vaginal discharge and genital malodor presented to a gynecologist. By examining the vaginal discharge, the doctor tested her for the presence of the following criteria: A vaginal pH > 4.7 A positive amine test The presence of clue cells in wet mount preparations A characteristic homogeneous adherent vaginal discharge Furthermore, the doctor did microscopy of stained smears and culture of vaginal discharge. Also, a specimen was collected from her male partner and tested for the same microbes as observed in her.
