Coronavirus disease (COVID-19), initially identified as pneumonia cases of unknown origin has recently created a ripple around the world by affecting nearly 2 lakh people so far1. The highly infectious nature of the disease has compelled the World Health Organization (WHO) to officially declare it as a pandemic and thereby upgrade the global risk assessment for this condition to its highest level 2 . However, according to the health advisories, the diabetic population belongs to the high-risk categories of contracting the disease which puts them at extra risk for COVID-19 mortality.
