A 16-year-old female who is brought to the Clinic by her mother with a chief complaint of "missed periods" for 2 months. She experienced menarche at age 13. She believes her menses have been "more or less" regular but she has never kept track. She cannot remember the exact date of her last menstrual period. She states that when she has her menses, she has pain that is occasionally bad enough that she misses school. Her mother reports that her daughter has not had a period in at least two months and she wants you to test her for pregnancy and screen her for any sexually transmitted diseases (STD). She vehemently denies any sexual activity.
