A 74 year old patient with completely edentulous maxillary arch reported for fabrication of upper complete denture. Keeping in mind the masticatory forces exerted by natural dentition it was planned for maxillary complete metal denture. Advantages of it are:- provides strength to the denture as it opposes natural teeth metal is a good conductor of heat therefore patient can easily detect hot or cold food or beverages he will intake which is not possible in conventional complete denture.
Caution to be taken while fabricating M axillary metal denture is not to make the denture too heavy or else it might fall down due to gravity. Patient was very happy with the prosthesis in post follow ups.
