An acquaintance of mine has removed, a CT Scan documented foreign body (mop), left after LSCS, from a patient's abdomen, three years back. Patient doing fine since then. Now, relatives are him to give an affidavit stating the facts and adding that it was a gross, life-threatening negligence.

The doctor has given them the discharge card. Is he obliged to give this affidavit?
