Case presentation A healthy 19-year-old G1 P0 at 29 weeks’ gestation presented with labor and delivery area abdominal pain. No leakage of fluid or bleeding through the vagina was noted. Her antenatal history has been unremarkable. She had been eating and drinking normally.

Examination Blood pressure (BP) - 110/70 mmHg Heart rate (HR)- 90 beats per minute (bpm) Temperature - 99°F (37.2°C) Fetal heart rate - Baseline heart rate of 120 bpm and a reactive pattern Pelvic examination - cervix is 3 cm dilated, 90% effaced, and the fetal vertex is presenting at −1 station Uterine contractions were occurring every 3 to 5 minutes.
