ALIGARH: The district hospital is distributing pamphlets in schools and offices across town to allay fears stemming from half-baked information about swine flu. Plans to put up large banners across Aligarh to educate the denizens about the virus are also in the pipeline. Rahul Kulshreshtha, district surveillance officer at the district hospital, said the H1N1 outbreak had triggered panic among people.

"Patients are getting confused with seasonal flu and swine flu," the officer said. "It has become important for us to print brochures explaining the flu in detail." He further said over 100 people had visited the out patient department (OPD) at the hospital on Thursday, fearing swine flu. He explained that confusion was rife as symptoms of seasonal and swine flu - fever and cough - are identical.
