Scheuermann kyphosis, also known as juvenile kyphosis or juvenile discogenic disease, is a condition involving hyperkyphosis. Males are majorly affected compared to females with the ratio being 2:1. The age affected is from 12 to 17 years. The disease is classified into two types. The type one involves the thoracic spine, with the apex of curve T7-T9, and type two involves the thoracic and lumbar spine with the apex of curve T10-T12. Bracing is the initial therapy for the disease.

Further, physical therapy can help improve posture and ease the pain. Though rarely required, surgery is the last rescue and is used for patients with neurological deficits and pain.
