Researchers at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) have claimed that they are close to testing a possible therapy for Alzheimer’s on humans . The study has been published by the AMU researchers in the Nature Scientific reports journals. According to the study, they found that cyclophosphamide can help treat Alzheimer’s along with other related amyloid-associated neurological diseases. The compound is already being used by other doctors to suppress the immune system for treating certain disease conditions.
The doctors in the trauma center also use this drug, as a side drug, in case of brain injury patients. This compound has already been approved by US FDA.
