An eight yrs old girl wt 22 kg is having high grade fever 102-103 for last three days a/c chills.In between fever she remains normal.There is very mild cough. No tonsills, no lymph node, no organomegaly. Her Blood report of today is as under-- CRP quantitative 58.3, ESR-48,vTLC--8900, DLC-P60, L29, M9, E2, PLT-2.68, urine,MP-Negative, Typhi dot-negative. She is on tab Cefixime 200 BD, for last 2 days.urine has 0.-1 pus cells , no bacteria should we still go for urine culture.
If there is no focus waht should be the antibiotics of choice ?she is having two spikes in a day of 102 fever even after tab cefixime. Otherwise she is well taking orally playful. What should be the next step in management?
