IMA has embarked on a month-long ‘Bharat Yatra’ from February 25 to oppose the National Medical Commission (NMC) bill that seeks to replace MCI. During this yatra, various issues like the NMC Bill, Clinical Establishments Act of the states and violence against doctors will be addressed. The ‘yatra’ started from sunrise on February 25 from Gandhi Mantapam, Kanyakumari. Regarding the much-opposed NMC Bill, the IMA president said that “ The anti-people Bill proposed by the Centre will also make medical education expensive and make it difficult for the poor people of the society to access healthcare.
