A lot of research has been performed on increasing the safety and the efficacy of the antifungal drugs used for the skin diseases. This article reviews the safety and efficacy of some of the commonly prescribed topical and oral antifungal drugs. Currently, the treatment of fungal infections is comparatively straightforward and effective in almost 80% of the cases. There is now a wide selection of antifungal agents which can be used as topical and oral formulations.
