Provided the fact that one size cannot fit all, not all patients must be treated with one therapy. Likewise, not all patients with hypothyroidism may respond positively to hormonal therapy. A significant number of patients with hypothyroidism may respond less efficiently to hormonal therapy and may develop serious complications such as coronary heart disease. Keeping this in mind and based on the eye-opening results of a systemic review, the new guidelines for the treatment of subclinical hypothyroidism were formulated.
