One day when I was in my clinic an old lady about 60 years with torn clothes on her. She came to me with a complaint of defective vision in her only seeing-eye. She has lost her vision in one eye, 5 years ago in an Eye camp. Her narration was that she has gone to the general hospital and two private hospitals and everybody is advising Cataract surgery. She was afraid because of her past experience. Moreover, she is earning her lively hood through agriculture labor as she has lost her husband recently and have the only son.
She was suffering from lenticular myopia with a visual acuity of 6/24 which improved to 6/6 with a minus 2 diopter lens. I have immediately prescribed the lens and advised her. She could postpone her surgery for some more time. Moreover, I telephoned the optical shop to give the spectacle at a fair price to that lady. I could still remember her face with weeping eyes…
