Health Ministry launched a new breastfeeding policy to deal with malnutrition in the state and to promote exclusive breastfeeding to infants upto 6 months. As per the National Health Mission (NHM), children who are exclusively breastfed upto 6 months have more straight to fight against diseases such as diarrhea and pneumonia.

The goal of the policy is making mother milk available for those infants who do not get mother milk due to certain reasons, 18 district of the state is providing mother milk by constituting mother milk bank.
