It often comes to light that we Doctors are a species by ourselves. Take other professionals like engineers, lawyers,CAs, etc. They seem to gel well with society and behave like normal human beings. I have observed Doctors behave rather inhumanly and arrogantly when it comes to treating their peers, let alone the commoners. More the degrees, more is the arrogance. This phenomenon is seldom seen with other professionals who manage to retain an excellent sense of camaraderie and friendship throughout!

Why is it so? Is it because of the false superiority complex we tend to develop the moment we score high marks and join MBBS? Scolding and ridiculing colleagues and more so Juniors comes effortlessly. Most Doctors have superiority complex which is very much on display during rounds? Is it the rigid medical school training?
