We know glaucoma can be a silent blinding disease, especially chronic. Simple if it is not diagnosed or treated in time. There is no doubt that with recent advances in ophthalmology and subspecialty of separate glaucoma and subspecialty glaucoma, screening glaucoma clinics the disease is treated much better both in terms of medical and surgical management. But, on the other hand, there has been increasing incidence of diabetes mellitus hypertension, smoking, family history of glaucoma.

All these are risk factors for glaucoma. So these days we have to keep a close watch on systemic diseases which are risk factors for glaucoma. So I feel the incidence of glaucoma is increasing because of these risk factors. What are your views?
