Certainly, they are specialist. Otherwise, MS (General surgery) should be allowed to operate/do the laparotomy, any other surgery which is done by a superspecialist. So there must be a time ward registration for all practising doctors instead of a useless discussion on degree/ diploma etc. Practising doctor meeting criteria of that field should be allowed to practice in the field of his subject/speciality. Practioner not upto prescribed criteria must be registered and should be asked to reappear for the test.
It's unpardonable to be unaware of general knowledge of all subjects of medical teaching, on the ground that it is not concerned with their speciality. For example, a surgeon must know pharmacology, physiology, pathology, medicine etc. So all about his patients, because he is a Medical graduate first then a specialist. What do you think?
