A multicountry analysis using the FIGO Nutrition Checklist, based on 1,515 online responses, revealed that 94.5% of women had at least one potential nutritional risk , with l ow fish (45.3% ) and limited pulse intake (38.1%) being the most common gaps. Alarmingly, over half of women of reproductive age ( 17–44 years ) reported not taking folic acid supplementation, despite its well-established role in pregnancy outcomes. Regional variations were evident—Africa and the Eastern Mediterranean fared better in meeting nutritional standards, while nearly half of women in Asia-Oceania reported four or more risks.
