A new study revealed that sugar replacements may cause health changes associated with diabetes and obesity. This report was presented at the Experimental Biology 2018 conference in American Physiological Society Annual Meeting. According to the researcher’s artificial sweeteners should not be considered as a healthy alternative to sugar as they are found to be linked with obesity and diabetes. This study was conducted on rats and cell cultures, which was found to be the largest examination till date to track biochemical changes in the body.
It was also determined that it affects the lining of blood vessels proving to be harmful for vascular health.
