Yet again, the MCI has recommended the Centre to not permit the establishment of seven proposed government medical colleges in Rajasthan. Last year itself, the Rajasthan government has announced that the 7 medical colleges will be operational from coming academic year. However, all the applications of these 7 colleges were rejected by the MCI.

With a view of increasing medical seats, the assessment reports of these colleges were presented before the executive committee. The executive committee says that these colleges fail to meet the eligibility criteria for commencing as medical colleges from 2018-19 .
