I am working as a DNB Radio Diagnosis resident. My wife will complete her 37 week of pregnancy on 1st july 2015. She was on thyroxin 50mg since 24th week of pregnancy. She was diagnosed to have gestational DM & is on insuline since last 3 weeks. Her thyroid profile & blood glucose level are within normal limit at present.
Her BP is within normal limits She has developed pedal edema since the begining of her last trimester which was reducible early on. But since last 3 weeks she started to pain, swelling & redness over medial aspect of both of her thighs. Initial symptom is just tenderness which was progress to all these symptoms along with hardness. Obstetrician & her treating physician told us initially that it is just pregnancy related edema but when all symptoms were increased they diagnosed it as bilateral cellulitis & put her on i.v antibiotics.
