A friend of mine, who is an orthopaedic surgeon was approached by a pathologist. My friend practices in a private hospital but quite unsatisfied. The pathologist owns a large premises where he offered my friend and another doctor ( dermatologist) a place for practice, with a initial investment and security deposit, which will be locked in for 2 years if one decides to quit. All of them have good outreach and loyal patient base. An offer also said that both the specialists would get preference from a pathologist.
The offer appears quite good. But, in your opinion is it good to combine practice in such a way? Would this be more economical? What are the pitfalls in combining practices? Has anyone tried this?
