Expert scientists at the University of South Florida have discovered a compound for the efficient treatment of asthma and (COPD) that differs in action from existing bronchodilators. The current therapeutic drugs used in managing asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) continue to lead to poorly controlled symptoms causing severe shortness of breath, hospitalizations, or even death. Currently, less than 50% of patients achieve adequate control of lung inflammation and airway constriction by bronchodilators and other medications .
