Diabetes is a very common and increasing metabolic multiorgan disorder which has to be treated in time and promptly in order to prevent its complications. I don’t want to go details about its pathogenesis and other factors but as an ophthalmologist. I want to bring the importance of the ophthalmic evaluation of all diabetic patients.

So, it is a duty of all treating physicians and diabetologists to refer the patients of DM if not 6 monthly but yearly evolution to an ophthalmologist who is supposed to do complete ophthalmic examination not only retinal evolution but visual examination along with refraction and ANT segment assessment.
