Any surgery performed by surgeons should be not under or overrated what in ophthalmology. We should not give this impression to a patient that any ophthalmic procedure is simple and takes only a few minutes at the same time. We dont have to make patient anxious surgeons job is to investigate the patient completely and then select a proper case for surgery.
If one takes the example of cataract surgery it has gone through so much advancement that we are now doing phaco with bifocal and trifocal pc iols and even robotic surgery. What I want to bring an important point that some impression is given to cataract patient these days that cataract surgery takes few minutes and even no patch st be applied I feel it is not proper may be even in best possible hands and most recent advances may be some complications may occur.
