Eye camps are a common phenomenon in India. As far as ophthalmic surgeries are concerned in particular hundreds of catracts are operated. The reason for conducting these eye camps is to ensure ophthalmic services to needy rural areas where facilities of an ophthalmologist are almost non-existing. Also poverty in these areas also prevents them to seek ophthalmic advice in urban areas. The big question is how safe is eye camp surgery?
