Orthokeratology is a recent modality of medical treatment of moderate myopia in children of up to 9 years of age by special type of contact lenses known as ortho KC lensed. They are put during the night. In the process, they cause corneal reshaping and so myopia is corrected for a couple of days.

They are also supposed to arrest the progress of myopia by 40%. Also, very helpful for children for sports. These c lenses have also been tried in hyperopia presbyopia and astigmatism.
