Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is an emerging disease with a rapid increase in the number of cases and deaths since it was first identified in Wuhan, China, in December 2019. As COVID-19 has spread across the globe, so have certain rumors, myths and other pieces of misinformation about this infectious coronavirus. Unfortunately, this relentless deluge of information makes it difficult to separate fact from fiction and during such a viral outbreak, rumors and misinformation can be very dangerous.
