I have observed that few of the referring OB/GYN and the patients as well tend to get upset when we mention in follicular studies that the follicle has regressed in size. A dominant follicle regressing in size without ovulating has been commonplace, but of late the hostile feedback is making me doubt.

Can a solitary dominant follicle "regress" in size during "one" menstrual anovulatory cycle?
